I loved watching the COSBY SHOW growing up. Watching this one family celebrate not just the culture of an American family but an African American family opened my eyes to a world of art and music. I never realize how seeing the paintings hung on the wall (such as Ellis Wilsons Funeral Procession or Varnette Honeywood) in the home of the Huxtables and hearing the music of Coletrain, Miles Davis and seeing guest stars like Dizzy Gillespie and Judith Jamison to name a few would help shape who I was by educating me and making me want to learn more about the contributions of these great artist…
